Sea Shell Wedding Favors

When it comes to finding beach themed wedding favors, sea shells will sit top of the list. They are the first thing you think of when it comes to the beach and are possibly one of the easiest things to use for favors.

In fact you have probably already used sea shell motifs on your wedding stationery and possibly integrated them into the design of your wedding cake, so it makes sense to use them for your wedding favors too.

Here are a few ideas for favors that can be found in stores and for ones you could make yourselves:

• Favor stores feature many sea or beach related favors including shell encrusted photograph frames, shell topped bottle stoppers or openers and shell shaped bookmarks.
• A boxed set of mini shell shaped soaps makes a pretty gift, look out for sets that have different shaped shells such as clams and cockles.
• Instead of a photograph frame give your guests mini albums with a shell motif to the front cover. They can then add in all the photographs they took of your wedding!
• Make your own shell key rings with cockle shells, you can purchase key ring findings from craft stores and jewelry making sites.
• Use sand dollars as place cards and write your guests names on them in marker pen. Your guests can then take them home as favors.
• Make your own mini message in a bottle with small glass bottles with cork stoppers, available from wholesalers. Add a little sand and some tiny shells, then write your thank you message on some parchment style paper and roll it up scroll style and pop it into the bottle. It is a good idea to cut your paper down so that when rolled up it is slightly shorter than the bottle and to also tie it with a small bit of raffia to stop it unrolling once inside.
• Look out for glass coaster sets with a shell design in favor stores.
• Use large clam shells as holders for candy or chocolate sea shells.
• Make your own cookies shaped like shells and ice them to match your wedding colors. You could even add your guests’ names and use them as name cards as well.
• Give each guest a mini cake topped with a chocolate or sugar craft sea shell.
