Sometimes it is nice to break with the everyday & to give out wedding favors that are a little bit different. The stores are packed with mass produced items but you may still struggle to find that perfect favor that says everything about you & your wedding.
Weddings that have a natural feel running through them are a popular trend at the moment. Whilst we are still going in for a little glitz & glamour our wedding favors are becoming more creative & far more unique. Beach weddings, garden themes & eco-friendly weddings all call for favors that are more unique & different to the norm.
When I talk about organic favors I am meaning from a design point of view rather than an environmental one; although this is not exclusively the case. To realize what I mean read on to discover some fabulous wedding favor ideas:
Pebbles – Visit your local garden center for a bag of river washed pebbles. These are wonderfully tactile, the smoothness & rounded shapes makes you just want to rub your fingers over them. Pebbles like this can also double as place names by writing your guests names on them with paint or marker pen. When it is dry on one side turn them over & write a thank you message on the other.
Visit local craft shops or go online & look for some pebble tea light holders, which are hollowed out pebbles designed to fit a tea light neatly inside. These are wonderfully decorative & will fit with any interior.
Larger pebbles would make nice paperweights; again look for nice decorative ones from garden centers.
Using pebbles means that every favor is unique – no two will be exactly the same.
Wood – wood is a wonderful medium & you will find a range of nice crafts that are perfect for wedding favors. Candle holders, vases, ornaments all make nice gifts at any time & local craft stores will probably stock a range within your price range.
You can also look online for stores that sell wooden objects & who offer bulk discounts. Most will come with a natural finish which you could paint, wax or varnish yourself to make them more unique.
Metal – going back to the pebbles, I have seen lovely chrome tea light holders shaped like pebbles that would make beautiful wedding favors. Very stylish, these will fit anywhere & your guests are bound to love them.
Other metal objects include spoons, bowls, vases & boxes. Look for anything that has an unusual but natural shape & which is smooth to the touch.
The idea of organically designed wedding favors is to look for something with a natural style & which is smooth & tactile to the touch. These items are very decorative if not useful & their uniqueness is bound to delight your guests.
