How to Add That Personal Touch by Making Homemade Wedding Favors

Having a wedding on a budget doesn't necessarily mean it has to LOOK like a budget wedding. Nobody has to see whether you cut corners. One of the easiest ways to achieve this is with well-done homemade wedding favors. Most guests expect to be able to take something home with them from the wedding. Often, this is just a token remembrance of the day. Believe it or not, it's easy to make them yourself, and you'll be able to create something useful for your guests. Start with a trip to a large craft store. Most craft stores have a few aisles dedicated to wedding ornaments, decorations, and favors. If you spend some time looking through the aisles, you might get some ideas. Below are several suggestions of homemade wedding favors. Candles - Purchase some floating white candles by the box; go for the rose-shaped ones. Jazz them up by tying ribbons around them that match your wedding colors, complete with a flower and bow. Attach a tag thanking your guests for the gift of their presence. Potpourri - Shop around for some small containers that will go well with the theme of your wedding. Fill each container with potpourri, which you can buy in large bags. Photos and frames - Often, you can find large amounts of small, cheap wooden frames (wallet-sized, 3x5, or 4x6). You can decorate these frames with paint, or even dress them up with lace, beads, ribbons, fake flowers, and other craft items. In each frame, put a picture of you and your fiance. Many of your guests will keep the photo in the frame once they get home, especially close friends and family. Distantly related guests can decide to use another photo in the frame. When it comes to homemade wedding favors, these are just a few ideas out of hundreds to start with. If the craft store doesn't spark just the right idea, spend some time on the internet, where you'll find hundreds of ideas waiting for you.
